Rules that do the repetitive part.

01

Triggers

Start a rule when a task is created, a status or priority changes, an assignee is added, a due date arrives, a field changes, a comment is posted, a file is uploaded, a tag is added or a button is clicked.

02

Conditions

Narrow a rule to the right tasks: priority is Critical, a client field is set, nobody is assigned. Match all the conditions or any of them, and let the rule reach subtasks too.

Common questions

Do new rules run on existing tasks?

No. A rule is live from the moment you save it, for work that happens after that.

How do I see what a rule did?

Open the Activity tab in the Automations manager. Each run shows what triggered it, who set it off and whether it worked, and the task's own history names the rule that changed it.

Can a rule apply to a whole Space?

Yes. A rule on a Space runs on every List inside it, now and in future. A rule on a List runs only there.

Can a rule email customers?

Yes. Send an email from your connected mailbox, with the task's details filled in, and add a Reply-to so answers reach your team.
